Literature Text

The stagnating sun sets behind black trees,
Turning the sky a poisonous orange
With dashes of pink, purple and midnight blues.
As I gaze out the window,
The snow melting on the ground reflects the light
From the ghostly full moon now rising,
And oh how I wish to touch the starry skies with you.

To fly away from this world of malevolence,
Into a dark place of light
Where we are surrounded by new snowflakes,
Pure and unspoiled by the muddy ground.
Untainted bits of lost hearts falling from the clouds,
Surrounding us in a safe haven,
A new world that only we will ever know.
Like a forgotten wonderland,
Rediscovered by two lovers
Within the confines of their own imagination,
Trapped inside the prisons of flesh for their souls.

Neverland leaks out of their bodies in rainbows,
Soft and chaste like kisses of dragon flies.
How I wish to reach this place with you,
Away from the bitter lies put out as truth.
Forever in your arms,
With the bliss of ignorant youth.
Reaching high through the flakes,
We aim for our true star.
I know we will make it there someday,
Even though it seems so far . . . .
. . .
