I love being around you,
Seeing you smile,
Hearing you laugh,
Which makes me in turn do the same.
Spending time on my basement floor,
Passing the time with sweet kisses.
Wishing to control time,
Like DVR, so that we can pause,
Rewind, replay our favorite parts.
Get out popcorn, watch our lives on the silver screen,
Like the lining of every rain cloud.
Sending tear drops pouring through the sky,
Collecting in puddles of rippling water,
Causing the air to become thick with mist.
At times like these,
I can almost feel your arms around my waist,
Your breath on my neck, as we watch the storm from
The porch window.
Lightening flashes illuminate the space around us,
Causing a glare on the glass
Creating a mirror of crystal right in front of us.
A reflection of ourselves, the truth, visible,
Within reach, yet buried beneath the lines,
Concealing it out of sight to all outsiders.
Just as the veil that I long to wear
For you and only you
Hides my face from view,
Twisting it into obscure and vague lines
Of pigmented beauty.
A paint only to be obtained,
When my pale skin meets your
Tanned safe body.
Merged with the realization
That I may forever lie in your embrace,
My soul bound to yours,
By vow and ring.
A knot finally tied,
Rid of all loose ends.
Like the ribbons of balloons we once
Walked through at the grocery store.
As long as I have you,
I need nothing else,
Because I have what I believe to be love.
I wear your heart close to mine,
Underneath the torn, black t-shirt, washed far too many times,
Along with the jeans, faded and ripped,
Forming the outfit that has been in my closet for so long.
Broken in and comfortable,
This feeling I have for you,
We have for each other,
Fits like the perfect pair of jeans.
It feels so good, so right,
An outfit well accustomed to each curve
Of the body.
Following the contours of the mountain side,
Beneath the painted sky,
The gleaming water of the lake, liquid glass.
The log cabin in the distance behind us,
Through field of grain, rippling with the wind,
Ocean waves.
Mist settles around us,
Surrounding our bodies,
Like your arms holding me tightly.
A breeze is blowing your scent
Closer to me,
Your skin on mine as we watch the sun rise.
My heart almost bursts,
Due to this overwhelming affection
I have for you.
And the more I ponder about this strange sensation,
I wonder could this be true love.
An aspiration I
Cast far into the sky,
A shooting star,
That you are the one.
Could it be that
You are my one true wish come true?
Could you be my lucky star?
Or is this just another illusion of love?
A false apparition of the future . . .
I think believe the dark side not,
For the heart knows something the mind does not,
Passion, ardor, lust, l’amour . . .
